Soul Healing: Meaning, Benefits and Ways to Do It

You have to trust me, there is a way out. No matter how deep the pain and suffering is, there is always a promise of light.

Deep soul healing is that light which will help you out of your miseries. It is a systematic procedure of experiencing yourself as a soul, instead of just mind and body.

Some healers describe it as similar to the emotional healing stages. However, spirit healing occurs beyond the processes of the manifested world.

With this blog, let me help you understand how to mend your soul and get out of your suffering.

What is Soul Healing?

In simple words, soul healing is the process by which a person achieves soul awareness. During soul awareness, a soul perceives the body, mind, emotions, and even energy as a separate entity from itself.

Many philosophers argue that a soul is an immortal dimension of a being. Therefore, it does not need healing. Rather, the soul only requires an awareness of its own undying existence.

Such awareness is enough to end all forms of pain and suffering. Since, in a state of awareness, a soul perceives that suffering occurs in other dimensions, but never in its own core.

Benefits of Healing the Soul

With all being said about soul healing therapy, you must be wondering why you should practice it. This technique will help you in ways more than you can imagine.

Following are some of the benefits of going through this procedure:

  • Emotional Balance: Since it involves mindfulness at soul level, it helps to see emotions in their true form. You will become more able to identify and acknowledge your emotions.
  • Release of All Trauma: Healing the soul will help you let go of the pains of your past. It will aid you with stress healing, trauma healing, womb healing, and even with healing of any generational trauma examples.
  • Energy Rejuvenation: Once you release your pent-up feelings, it will also dissolve the energy blocks within you. You will start to feel lighter, refreshed, and more vibrant.
  • Physical Healing: Some research has proven that with the free-flow of bodily energies, physical ailments and diseases also heal up quickly and more efficiently.
  • Control on Thoughts: Mind, body, and soul healing also reduces the negative and unfruitful thoughts. You become more centered in positivity, productivity, and abundance attitude.
  • Clarity and Purpose: With soul awareness you gain greater clarity in your thoughts, desires and purpose in life.
  • Success in Life and Relationships: When you achieve balance in emotions and thoughts, you will also start to succeed better in your work, social and familial life.
  • Spiritual Growth: If you want to connect to your higher consciousness (Godliness) then spirit healing will help you with it.

Now let us find out what exactly you will need to do to cure your soul.

Preparation for Soul Healing

Spiritual healing is a simple practice that can be learnt by anyone. However, if you first prepare yourself with simple procedures, it will magnify your efforts later. Let’s have a quick look at these procedures.

  • Physical Healing: You can cure your soul even if you are not in a perfect physical state. However, if you are suffering from a disease or injury, you will need to make much more effort. It is better that you cure your body first before trying to reach the deeper levels of self.
  • Physical Release: Pent-up physical energy conflicts with any form of meditation practice. You can release such energy through intense exercise, uncontrolled dancing or even spiritual masturbation.
  • Controlling the Mind: Unrestricted engagement with thoughts might obstruct the soul healing meditation. Techniques like mantra meditation, creative visualization, focused attention, or body scan meditation will help you divert the mind away from thoughts.
  • Mindful Awareness: Once you have achieved certain control over your thoughts, you will then need to let go of this control. Since this control also takes up your energy space and might obstruct advanced healing practices. Mindfulness will help you learn to let your thoughts flow without engagement. For this you may even use mindful questions to build self-awareness.
  • Emotional Release: Going through emotional healing will dissolve initial energy blocks within you. It will let your energies flow and aid with spirit healing.

Remember that the above preparation is only to aid your efforts. If you feel that you already possess enough spiritual intensity, you can directly start with the soul heal therapy.

Though it will be helpful to first understand the difference between mindfulness and soul awareness.

Difference Between Soul Awareness and Mindful Awareness

As per advanced meditation practitioners, there is a fine difference between awareness of mind and that of soul. Understanding this difference will significantly help you in your healing journey.

While finding mindful awareness, a person becomes completely aware of the processes occurring within and around them. For instance, the person will clearly feel the way clothes touch their body, breathing occurs, thoughts flow, or energies move within. They will also mindfully perceive the way air flows, leaves dance, clouds shift or birds fly in the sky.

However, the concept of mindfulness is still an outside-in approach. Even when the observer observes everything, it is still a vague entity. There is always a certain fusion within the ‘observer’ and the ‘observed’. This fusion makes it difficult for the observer to disidentify from the processes of the observed.

The concept of soul awareness is an inside-out approach. It proposes to first identify and focus on the observer. The observer then starts being aware of every process that occurs through the observed. Since the entity of ‘observer’ is clearly defined, it always remains at a certain distance from the ‘observed’.

How to Do Spirit Healing?

The process of healing your soul is easier than it might sound. All it needs is sharp inner-observation and consistent efforts. Let us find out how exactly to perform it.

  • Choose a comfortable and safe space for you to sit down. Close your eyes and start focusing within your body.
  • Try to find the center of your body. It lies somewhere between your chest and stomach (vertically) and between your ribs and backbone.
  • Focus your complete attention on the center. Do not imagine any color, shape, size or anything about it; just keep looking.
  • While you sharpen your awareness on the center, there might be some inrush of pent-up feelings and energies within. Let it take its course. You must feel your feelings fully. Cry, laugh, burn or shiver – whatever comes naturally. The release of these energies is close to spiritual healing death.
  • Once your pent-up energies are released, you need to re-focus your attention from the center of your manifested being (body and energy system) to the center of the unmanifested (soul). Start by looking at yourself from a distance.
  • Look at your breaths – the way they move in and move out from your nose. However, do not look as if it’s you who’s taking these breaths. Maintain a distance. The ‘observer’ is the soul, while the ‘observed’ is this person who is breathing.
  • Now while being centralized within the soul, you have to shift your attention towards the body. Start from the legs and gradually move upwards. Look at every process (tickling, pain, heat, sweat, cold, etc.) that is happening in this body. However, do not identify with any of the process or body. Be a third-person who is looking at everything from a distance.
  • You will also have thoughts and emotions. Look at them. But while remembering you are neither your thoughts nor emotions. You are just an observer resting at a distance, undisturbed by anything of the manifested world.
  • Sharpen your awareness of the soul. You do not need to concentrate or suppress anything within. You just need to maintain this new-found awareness. (During the practice you will lose this awareness multiple times. But, do not be disturbed by it, since it is natural. Every time you realize that you lost it, re-focus without any regret).
  • In a single practice (or repeated practices over days) you will reach a zero point. It is a point of nothingness – highest realization of your soul or existential being.
  • Now open your eyes and look around you. There is a room. There are walls, curtains, a door, floor, air, and light. There is this person sitting here quietly. But none of this is ‘you’. Look at everything from a distance. The true you is a soul, that observes everything without being disturbed or harmed in any way. Isn’t this feeling a true bliss?

During the above soul heal meditation, you must remember that there is a difference between imagining and truly experiencing. Imagination of a soul or blissfulness are forced thoughts, and can not help you in any way. You must let everything take a natural course; even if it means going through the pains of pent-up feelings and energies.

Practising Soul Awareness in Daily Life

Once you have learnt the technique of healing the soul, you can start imbibing it in your daily life. Following are some examples by which you may use this practice.

  • Eating: When you eat, feel every aspect of your food in your mouth. Feel its taste, texture, the way it moves and is swallowed. Look at it going down in your body. However, look at it as a third-person from a distance. Do not lose the awareness of you as a soul.
  • Walking: While walking, look at your whole body. The way your muscles move, the sensations on skin, and the pressure on the bones. But, be centralized in the soul – the one who never moves and is undisturbed by any sensation.
  • Talking: Whenever you speak, do not identify with the person speaking. Of course, there is this person who can think, assemble words, and let them out via mouth. But, this person is not you. The true you is resting at a distance, looking at the person engaged in an act of talking.
  • Sitting: When you sit in a crowd or even nature, look at everything around. Look at the people or trees or air around. Look at them like they are part of a movie streaming on a curtain. Look at your body sitting there. None of this is the observer. The observer is the blissful being at a distance looking at everything observed.

The more and more you imbibe this spiritual healing energy in everyday life, the more blissful you will become. On a daily basis, whenever you remember, start being aware of your soul and perceive everything from a distance. Try to maintain this state as much as you can. Especially when you feel physical, emotional or energy pain, just centralize attention on your soul. You will realize that immediately all of your suffering will vanish.

You may further your journey for soul mending through spirit healing books. I have prepared a list of the top five books that will help you.

However, remember that books or even a soul healing therapist can only show you the way to find the cure. Ultimately you will have to walk yourself through your spiritual journey stages

All in All

Deep soul healing or spirit healing will help you move beyond all the pain and suffering of life. You will start to perceive your body, mind, and emotions as separate entities. While the true you is always in a state of blissfulness.

However, what’s important to understand is that it is not a one-time practice. Rather, soul awareness is the state of your being that you must practice in every moment of remembrance.
